How does pricing work?

Workshops and one-on-ones are Name Your Own Price / Sliding Scale. This means you choose the rate, which typically ranges from $30 to $80 per session. It's strongly encouraged that you choose a rate that feels like an investment in the work, but doesn't add any financial stress! 

Why Name Your Own Price / Sliding Scale?! 

  • To be mindful of the financial difficulties so many are experiencing.​

  • Many like that extra layer of privacy (all out of pocket!)

  • Figure skating is an expensive sport:

    • "Adding another expense" can be a barrier

What is Wellness & Health Coaching?

Wellness is defined as a conscious, self-directed, evolving process. Wellness coaching uses powerful coaching methodology to ensure change in an on-going coaching relationship. Your coach becomes your ally to help achieve lasting lifestyle behavioral change by guiding you to identify the areas that will benefit most from improving. As a coach, Aimie will help you to overcome both the inner and outer barriers that are holding you back from success. With some guidance, everyone creates their own Wellness Plan and begins to take steps toward achieving their wellness, food, and health goals.

What is Intuitive Eating?

“Intuitive eating is an approach that teaches you how to create a healthy relationship with your food, mind, and body—where you ultimately become the expert of your own body.   You learn how to distinguish between physical and emotional feelings, and gain a sense of body wisdom.   It’s also a process of making peace with food—-so that you no longer have constant “food worry” thoughts.  It’s knowing that your health and your worth as a person do not change, because you ate a food that you had labeled as “bad” or “fattening"."

How can healing my relationship with food improve my athletic performance?

Healing your relationship with food will improve your athletic performance tremendously. Your brain will no longer be distracted by hunger, lack of fuel, or fatigue. When you're training, you'll be focused on the task at hand; not how your body looks or what you are going to eat later. Healing your relationship with food is associated with increased bodily awareness and the ability to recognize when something in your body feels off, when to push, and when to rest.

How does Wellness & Health Coaching incorporate Intuitive Eating?

When a client's relationship with food and body come up, Aimie incorporates the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size®. HAES advocates for compassionate self-care, respect for body diversity and supports mindfulness, attuned movement, eating, and self care. It is an evidence based shift that veers away from the idea that people can or need to control their weight through dieting. Thus, Aimie addresses food and body issues in a weight neutral approach. There will never be weigh ins, for weight is not a good indicator of health!

What is Wellness & Health Coaching like?

The coaching experience is much like climbing a mountain with an experienced guide. Guides do not climb the mountain for you, but they enable people to get to new heights in places they may have never been before. They accompany their client on the journey acting as a supporter, source of feedback and accountability. Together, they attain the summit and experience increased wellness.

Is Wellness & Health Coaching the same thing as psychotherapy?

No, Aimie is not a licensed therapist. Coaching is not to replace psychotherapy. As a Wellness & Health Coach, Aimie is a medical ally by helping you achieve the lifestyle improvements your healthcare provider wants to see you make.

What about weight loss?

Studies show that focus on weight and weight loss is linked to diminished health. 95-98% of diets fail and 2/3 of those individuals end up gain the weight back and more. Weight loss is not sustainable long-term for most people. Not to mention, weight is not even reflective of body fat! So instead, Aimie takes a weight-inclusive approach and finds it unethical to prescribe weight loss to anyone. Under this paradigm, weight is put on the back burner and instead, the goal is to improve health behaviors of everyone, regardless of body size and shape.

What if I only eat "unhealthy foods?"

This fear is one of the most common experiences! This can be one of the scariest parts when diving head first into Intuitive Eating. The truth is, once you allow yourself unconditional permission to have forbidden foods, the urgency to eat large quantities eventually dissipates. When we listen to our inner signals and have gone through the process of making peace with food, we are able to make choices that honor our health, as well as our taste buds. Legalizing food frees you to respond to inner eating signals that have been smothered by negative thoughts and guilt.
